ECG & Pharmacology Course

 

The American Heart Association's adult ECG & Pharmacology Course presents information on basic electrophysiology, normal ECG measurements, basic arrhymias, basic ACLS drugs, usage and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies, and how to integrate basic drug pharmacology into ACLS algorithms.

The course is divided into two modules: one for ECG and one for Pharmacology. Each can be taught together or separately.

This is an instructor-led course using large group interaction. Course length is approximately 3.5 hours for the ECG module and approximately 2.75 hours for the Pharmacology module. If taught together, the course length is 6.25 hours.

 

 

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course-- ACLS

 

The online AHA ACLS course is for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient. ACLS emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival; the integration of effective BLS with ACLS interventions; and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation. This course is offered online with an in office skills check off after the student has completed the required course work. Please contact LHS for information on the restrictions associated with this course.

 

 

BLS Healthcare Provider Course

 

This online and in class course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of an automated external defibrillator and relief of choking. It is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings. There is also an online version of this class in which the student completes the course online and then take an onsite skill check off.

 

 

CPR for Community and Workplace

 

Students will learn to proper emergency action steps for adults, children, and infants, including how to alter emergency action steps to accommodate special conditions and how to assist adults, children, and infants who are choking. This level of training is designed for those who would likely be the only person to respond during an emergency and have limited or no equipment available. This is certification course for professional or volunteer teachers, coaches, fitness instructors, personal trainers, officials, and others working in physical activity professions.

 

 

Basic First Aid for Community and Workplace

 

This course combines lectures, demonstrations and video with hands-on training and practice.  Participants in this course learn to recognize and respond to emergencies including shock, cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants, heat and cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings.  Additionally, participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries. This course prepares one to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, infants, and children. It includes the how to identify and care for life-threatening bleeding, sudden illnesses, and injuries. Course length is approximately nine hours.  NOTE:  These courses are available in packages with several other courses, including CPR, AED, and BBP.
